Yoga and Meditation in Gitana


Program Description

Program Overview
On this program students will retreat to Colombia before the holidays where you will partake in daily yoga and meditation classes, eat clean and locally sourced foods, and grow in your wellness and spirituality. 

Location 
We will spend time in Cartagena, a beach community that is known for its cobblestone walkways and vibrantly colored buildings. We will also spend time in Gitana del Mar, which is a beachfront Eco Lodge.  

Program Features​

  • Daily yoga and meditation
  • Explore the Mercado de Bazurto and the Bohemian Getsemani area in Cartagena 
  • Colombian cuisine 
  • Tubing and hiking
  • Optional surf lesson 


Eligibility 

  • Degree-seeking student
  • Must be at least 18 years of age at time of participation
  • Junior standing (or admission to Cameron School of Business)
  • 2.5+ GPA 
  • Good judicial standing 

Academic Details

PED 101: Wellness - Yoga and Meditation in Gitana (2 credit hours)
OR
PEDL: Wellness Lab - Yoga and Meditation in Gitana (1 credit hour)

PED 101 satisfies the Lifetime Wellness requirement for University Studies

Financial Aid and Scholarships
Federal and state financial aid may be applied towards this program. Even if you are normally ineligible for financial aid, you should submit a financial aid application (FAFSA). You may find that you are eligible for additional funding.
