Travel to Russia

Program Description

Program Overview
The program is designed for students of any major and offers a unique opportunity to complete the Study abroad with the total of 6 credits. The group will be led by a Russian-native UNCW faculty. No Russian language or previous travel abroad experience is necessary. This study abroad experience will provide extensive exploration beyond the classroom, as students will travel to world-famous Russian cities of Moscow and St. Petersburg.

The travel part of the program enhances intercultural studies with immersion in the target country environment. The unique combination of program components is designed to boost the students’ cultural proficiency.

Program Activities & Features
The Program starts with 6 days in Moscow, the major political, economic, and cultural hub, and the most populous Russian city. The group will visit major museums, tourist attractions, places related to Tolstoy, Bulgakov and Stanislavsky, and participate in dress rehearsal of Musical Anna Karenina in Moscow Operetta Theater. Then, the group will travel by a comfortable night train to St. Petersburg and spend 13 days in the cultural capital of Russia, hosted by St. Petersburg State University of Economics. Students will visit the Pushkin museum, walk the streets of Gogol and Dostoevsky, visit imperial theaters, meet with theatre professionals.

Financial Aid and Scholarships
Federal and state financial aid may be applied towards this program. Even if you are normally ineligible for financial aid, you should submit a financial aid application (FAFSA). You may find that you are eligible for additional funding.
